Academy Spring Concert
Over 60 students performed solo and four-hands piano music at the Fairview Mall Library Theatre in North York.
The Yike Academy of Music 2023 Spring Concert took place on February 12th at the Fairview Mall Library Theatre in North York.
A beautiful setting of 260 seats with a 9-foot Steinway & Sons piano center stage, listeners were treated to a wide selection of piano favourites, ranging from music as early as George Frederick Handel, to the progressive harmonies of Dmitri Kabalevsky.
The performers arrived to the venue in stunning fashion, some with beautifully elaborate dresses, others in a tux and a bow tie – all of which immaculately complemented the music that each one of them played.
Faculty member Dr. Joonghun Cho also gave the ivories a little tickle at the end of the show. His stunning performance of Chopin’s Ballade in G minor was met with roaring ovations!
